Most people notice a meaningful shift within two to four weeks of consistent morning light therapy, typically 20 to 30 minutes at 10,000 lux within an hour of target wake time. The shift is gradual, roughly 15 to 30 minutes per week under ideal conditions. Combining light therapy with evening melatonin and reducing evening blue light exposure speeds the process. Inconsistency, including skipping sessions or sleeping in on weekends, slows or reverses progress.
